Arklow Community Excellence ("ACE", "we", "us") is a free, independent community directory for Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. We are not affiliated with any political party, commercial entity, or government body.

We collect the following personal data:

• Organisation listings: Name, email, phone, address, website, social media URLs, and description submitted via our listing form.
• Newsletter subscriptions: Email address only.
• Account data: Email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth) for organisation portal accounts.
• Usage data: Standard web server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) for security and analytics purposes.

• To publish and manage your organisation's listing on ACE.
• To contact you about your listing status or updates.
• To send newsletter emails (only if you subscribed).
• To secure and operate the website.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Under GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases:

• Contract: Processing necessary to manage your organisation listing or account.
• Consent: Newsletter subscription (you can withdraw consent at any time).
• Legitimate interests: Website security and fraud prevention.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted in the EU). All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We implement access controls to restrict who can view personal data.

• Organisation listing data is retained for as long as the listing is active. Rejected submissions are deleted within 90 days.
• Newsletter subscriber data is retained until you unsubscribe.
• Account data is retained until the account is deleted.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten").
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time (for newsletter subscriptions).

We use only essential cookies required for the website to function (authentication sessions). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies without your consent. See our Terms of Service for more detail.

We use the following third-party services which may process your data:

• Supabase — database and authentication (EU-hosted, GDPR-compliant).
• Google Fonts — web fonts (loaded from Google's CDN).

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of ACE after changes constitutes acceptance.
